Maruti Suzuki India gross sales dip 4% to 1,54,379 items in January

The nation’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday reported a 3.96 per cent fall in whole wholesales at 1,54,379 items in January. The corporate had offered 1,60,752 items in January 2021, MSI mentioned in a press release.

Final month, the corporate’s home gross sales slipped 8 per cent to 1,36,442 items as towards 1,48,307 items in January 2021, it added.

“The scarcity of digital parts had a minor impression on the manufacturing of automobiles that are primarily offered in home market. The corporate took all potential measures to minimise the impression,” MSI acknowledged.

Gross sales of mini automobiles, comprising Alto and S-Presso, fell 25.91 per cent to 18,634 items as in contrast with 25,153 in the identical month final yr.

Equally, gross sales within the compact section, together with fashions similar to Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, slumped 7.1 per cent to 71,472 items as towards 76,935 automobiles in January 2021.

Gross sales of mid-sized sedan Ciaz elevated to 1,666 items as in contrast with 1,347 items in January 2021.

Utility automobile gross sales, together with Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, rose 11.45 per cent to 26,624 items as in contrast with 23,887 automobiles within the year-ago month, MSI mentioned.

Exports jumped 44.13 per cent to 17,937 items as towards 12,445 items within the corresponding month final yr, the corporate mentioned.
