AHMEDABAD: A 27-year-old lady from Sola in Ahmedabad has complained to police that she has been dumped by her husband, who apparently informed her that he’ll take her again solely after she clears an English examination to make it to Canada. Additionally, she alleged that he’s pressuring her to get cash from her mother and father to journey to Canada.
She filed her criticism with a ladies’s police station on Thursday. Police have filed a case below the anti-dowry regulation and the IPC’s Part 498A (harassment of a lady to coerce her to meet an illegal demand). The lady, a pc engineer, stated her husband left her at her mother and father’ residence on March 18, telling her to get a great rating within the IELTS (Worldwide English Language Testing System) examination. She stated she married him in 2020 and introduced gold ornaments and Rs 2.5 lakh in money to her marital residence.
The lady stated her mother-in-law requested her quickly after the marriage handy over the money and ornaments in order that they are often saved in a locker. The lady stated two days after her marriage, her in-laws requested her to renew working. Three months on, her husband acquired her a job in one other IT agency at a wage of Rs 30,000.
Since she was working from residence, she took up each jobs. She stated her husband all the time stored her wage and her in-laws taunted her for not getting sufficient dowry, insisting that she demand a share in her father’s property. They wished her to get extra gold as nicely. The lady alleged that when she refused to provide in to their calls for, she was assaulted by her husband. She stated she couldn’t inform anyone about her ordeal as her husband eavesdropped on her calls. She stated even her husband’s sister demanded a gold ring and an costly cellphone.
